I built both pickups myself using kits from http://www.axesrus.co.uk, my homemade winding machine and a 42awg wire

The neck pickup is a mini humbucker (LP Deluxe style). It will be installed in a p90 frame, which gives the option to swap it with a real p90 down the line. The pickup is built with an Alnico2 magnet, 3.2k on one coil and 3.5k on the other.

The bridge pickup is a classic Tele pickup wound to 6.7k with Alnico 2 magnets. I used a black wool string wrapped around the coil to give it more protection and that vintage look. It also has a copper-coated steel plate under the coil.

Both pickups were tested to see if they sound good individually and if they complement each other well. I was impressed with both pickups on their own and with how well they work together. I’m a big fan of the more vintage Alnico2 magnets. They are smooth in the top while still being bright.
Both pickups were thoroughly wax-potted in a mixture of bee’s and paraffin wax.

You can hear the test and see the wax-potting process here:
